This is the January 2017 kit from Club Yumi.

I wanted to create a stole that had heavy geometric influences and utilized single yarn, biasing triangles as the basis.This is perfect easy knitting for in front of the tv, but produces an eye-catching design that looks like it was much more difficult to create than it actually is.

Because of the squishy, stretchy-ness of the garter-stitch, you get a lot of mileage for your yarn. From the finished measurements, it seems like this project would be a big undertaking to knit, but it actually goes very quickly. It’s very potato-chipy because you feel like you can knock-out the next triangle quickly since each one starts with just a single stitch and you build from there. Just when you start to get bored with the pattern that you’re on, you realize that you’re only a row or two away from switching yarns and starting a new triangle.

The yarn is from the amazing Heather of T & H Fiber Works and is a luciously soft and sparkly fingering weight that I fell in love with at North Country Fiber Fair in 2016. It’s a blend of 75% Blue Faced Leicester, 20% Silk and 5% Silver Stellina which has a lovely hand and excellent drape in the finished stole. The Stellina gives off a beautiful sparkle and shine without being itchy in the slightest. This really is one of my absolute favorite sparkle yarn bases that I’ve found and it’s dyed by one of my favorite people! ^_^
