Notes

11/2/13 - started today. Scariest yarn I’ve ever used, but it’s going surprisingly well.

11/5/13 - finished knitting. Hopefully it’s big enough. Will start felting sometime this week. I’ll be using a balloon for a form and bubble wrap to help the felting along. Hope it works! See first picture.

11/12/13 - I did the first pass of felting last week (see second picture), and my second pass tonight (see last 2 pictures). I found that the stitches were still quite noticeable after the first pass, but the size was just right, so I was afraid to do any more felting until getting advice from others. I was assured that it would stretch, so I took the plunge tonight. The length of the cloche has shrunk a bit, but I was able to stretch out the width by pulling it over a bowl that is about the size I want it.

11/24/13 - Okay, I did one more pass at felting, and I think that’s all it will need. It took a bit more massaging to get the shape once I pulled it back over the bowl. Looking forward to embellishing it soon!

12/9/13 - I decided to needle-felt some embellishments, and it looks great. Just need to add some pearls and it’s all done!
