Notes

I used the blanket stitch, which calls for a chain in multiples of 3. For a different width, just use a different chain size, but be sure to chain a multiple of 3.

Chain 159.

Row 1: Make 2 double crochets in the 3rd chain from the hook. Skip 2 ch. Make 1 sc in next ch. Make 2 double crochet in the same ch. Repeat from to the end of row 1 ending with 1 sc in the last ch.

Row 2: Chain 2, turn, make 2 dc in first sc. Skip the next 2 dc, Make sc and 2 dc in next sc. Repeat from across ending with 1 sc in the top of the ch-2.

Repeat Row 2 until desired length is made.

I did 17 rows in each color, and each color set was approximately 7 inches tall.

For the eyes I used two strands of white yarn, a worsted weight and a sport weight. Size N hook. Chain 3- in the 3rd chain from your hook, you’ll dc 5 times, then add 2 tc. Turn, chain 1, then 2 sc in each stitch. Turn, chain 1, then 1 sc in each stitch.

With the black yarn, I used an H hook and placed 8 sc into a magic circle, then 2 sc into each of those for the second round. Attach that to the white half moon shape and then place the eyes into the color bands wherever you feel they best fit.
