Notes

Originally I was planning to knit Ysolda’s Follow Your Arrow MKAL, but it turns out I’m not good at suspense, so I’ll wait until I can see how things turn out before knitting that.

Flukra has been on my to-knit list for ages, and I am so excited to finally be casting on for it.

I followed the pattern as written until the two rows after chart C. Then I knit a garter stitch border (rather than the lace chart) for about 1.5 inches, which was 7 garter ridges. Rather than working yarn overs for the increases in this section, I did kfb (practically invisible in garter) on either side of the centre stitch and two stitch in from beginning/end of the row.

I did a regular bind off at the top of the centre garter portion, but used Jenny’s Surprisingly Stretchy bind off for the edge. It uses more yarn, but is good for blocking and looks tidy.

Unblocked measurements: 22 inches deep x 54 inches wide.
Blocked: 29 inches deep x 63 inches wide.

This yarn is to die for. It felt wonderful in my hands as I knit, blocked beautifully, and is amazing to wear (so, so soft and light). I especially love the way the way the different fibres take dye and catch the light differently, creating a subtle but dynamic colourway.
