Got gauge 12 st and 26 r. So making the smallest size with 7,5’ (18 cm) of positive ease.
Cast-on with two needles: working needle and the bigger one to have stretchy cast-on row for a rounded bottom. 4,5 mm size needles were used for sleeve cuffs and a turtleneck.
Modifications:
- Making normal higher and narrower set-in sleeves. Do not like how sleeves look in the pattern pictures.
- Making sleeves narrower with a straight section in the beginning (no increases) to make a beautiful roll back cuff.
- All shorts rows for rounded bottoms are made after the first row. Do not like making short rows turns in the middle of the front/back as written in the pattern. They are visible and look not right.
- Made narrower turtleneck. The pattern collar looks for me too wide and flabby.
- Sleeve shaping double increases: Knit (slip) 1, YO, purl 1, YO, purl 1, knit in pat to the last 3 st, YO, purl 1, YO, purl 1, knit 1 (4 st increased). Do not like how increases are described in the pattern. You lose selvage st making increases that way.
My tip: due to nature of the stitch pattern after blocking your piece will grow in the length significantly and slightly shrink in the width. So be careful and make a bigger swatch.
