2/10/16 I don’t have post-blocking pics yet, but it looks pretty much the same--just larger and flatter! I didn’t block it very aggressively as the drape of the fabric was already pretty close to what I wanted. I just laid it out and pulled it into shape. I didn’t pin it or anything.

I’m very happy with the way this yarn and pattern worked together. For anyone who’s counting, I just kept working in the stripe pattern until I had just enough yarn left to bind off. I did nearly two complete extra stripes.

2/9/16 Ends are woven and this baby is blocking!

2/4/16 Used all but 3 gm of yarn! It’s bound off and just needs a couple of ends woven and blocking. I used a larger needle on the bind off (but I don’t remember what size…just grabbed something handy!)

2/2/16 finished the third skein. I’m going to keep going until I run out of yarn!

2/1/16 Finished the second skein today. It’s definitely going quickly!

1/31/16 A little over one skein in and it’s clearly much better on the larger needles. It has a lot more vertical stretch to it so I think it will end up being a good size.

1/30/16 Got the needles I ordered to redo this (US11s) and picked it up again today. It’s moving fast and I think the looser gauge will be better.

1/3/16 I’m ripping this out and swatching on larger needles. I finished the pattern with a little over two skeins but it’s very, very short.

12/30/15 I started this yesterday with four skeins of yarn available. It looks like you can continue to the bottom stripes of the pattern for a while, so I’ll just knit until I run out of yarn. That will help it get a little larger, anyway. Instead of aran yarn and US11s I’m using worsted and US9s. I would have used 10s but I don’t have any on hand that are long enough! It’s hard to tell how this is turning out because it’s so bunched up on the needles, but I think it’s looking good. The color transitions are interesting and really do resemble sand art.
