Notes

12/25/15 Five months later, I finally did the tassels! Done!

7/4/15 Mitts are finished, so I’m going to work on the tassels now. The hat itself used 107 gm, so just over one skein at around 117 yds. I have one complete skein left to use!

7/2/15 Finished the knitting portion (again). This time it fits perfectly :) I wove in all the ends. All that’s left to do is add the tassels. I will do that after I finish the somewhat matching Bel et Bon Mitts as I want to make sure I have enough yarn for them.

7/1 part 2: Got some size 10 dpns, transferred the work to them, and realized I had the wrong number of stitches :((( I must have done an extra pair of decreases by accident. So ermahgawd I ripped it out again. I was just going to rip back to the ribbing, but I was a little unhappy with the cast on edge as I did it a little too loose. So, might as well redo it right and be happy with it! At least it’s a fast knit.

7/1/15 I restarted and got as far as straight needles could take me. I don’t have size 10 dpns so will need to get some before I can finish. I like the looser fabric better--it shows off the fiber better, is squooshier and softer.

6/30 part 2: Never did get C to try it on…I just decided that it really was too small. Pulled it out, reswatched, and now going with the 10s instead of 9s.

Best cast on ever: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wf8cY_djTRI&feature=i...

6/30/15 Finished the knitting, now just have to weave in ends and add tassels. It did not turn out oversized, after all. If anything, it’s a little snug. I’m hoping that with a little wear and some tassels to hold the ends down, it will stretch a little bit. It took just over 100 yards.

The more I think about it, the more I think I should rip it out and go up a needle size. I will have the wifey try it on tomorrow and then decide.

6/29/15 Mods so far: slipped first stitch on the ribbing rows for a cleaner edge, ripped out the last two rows of ribbing as it got a little long. The width seems okay, so I’m going to continue to forge ahead and hope!

6/28/15 Cast on for this. I didn’t quite get gauge, so I’m going to watch this one closely to make sure it doesn’t turn out ginormous.
