Notes

11/30 #2 Fits great with the button! It’s been washed, blocked and gifted to my daughter’s bestie.

11/30/15 Added a button! Will have the little try it on when I get home.

11/25 #2 It’s really cute on, even though it’s hard to tell in the pics. Shockingly, my three year old wasn’t being the most cooperative model. However, it gaps a lot at the front and is a little long so the hood falls down really easily. That might be compounded by the giant tassel I made! I am going to add a smallish button to the front to keep it closed.

11/25/15 Done blocking. I’m planning to get modeled pics as soon as my daughter’s hair dries. In the meantime, it measures about 18” around at the base and 16.5” from top to bottom.

11/21/15 Knitting and grafting is done. I just have to adjust the tension on the graft, weave in ends and block. I’m thinking I’ll add a tassel to the top. I think it will look super cute!

The snood itself took 99 yards (61 yards pink and 39 yards purple). The pattern calls for 175 yards. I don’t know how I always tend to come in way under yardage. And I was worried I wouldn’t have enough! Now I’m trying to figure out what I’ll do with the rest of the yarn because this was supposed to get rid of it all!

If I had known I had plenty of yarn, I would have done the stripes differently. I did 3 rows of purple and 4 of pink because I had more of the pink than the purple. I didn’t think about how that would work when knitting the flat portion. Since the purple had an odd number of rows, I needed two active strands of pink, one on each edge. I carried the yarn up the side but, since it’s super bulky, it looks a little messy. If the stockinette edge roll doesn’t hide it completely, I’ll add a stitch or two to keep it in place. The striping worked out perfectly at the top. I did one row of purple then grafted with purple, which turned it into a 3 row stripe.

11/20/15 I have just enough yarn total if I use two colors. So, I’m doing stripes with four rows of the pink and three rows of the purple. So far, so good! As expected, it’s knitting up quickly.
