10/27/15 It’s not quite dry yet, but I’m calling it DONE. I got a few slightly clearer pictures. I would knit this pattern again, but not with the same yarn!
10/26/15 I finally sewed on all the stupid buttons and gave it a wash. It’s drying now and will be done, done, done. Not my favorite project.
10/12/15 Finished knitting the button bands. I chose to do I cord button loops instead of button holes, but I’m not sure I would do it that way again. To finish I need to sew on the buttons, weave in the ends, wash and block.
10/11/15 Finally picked this up again to finish it. I bought some basic buttons for it because, despite our tens of thousands of buttons, I could not find more than two that matched. So far I knit the button band on the right and am trying to decide how many buttons to use and what sort of buttonhole. I’m thinking maybe 4-5 and I cord button loops?
8/18 part 2: Finished both sleeves, wove in some of the ends. The underarms had some pretty big gaps, so I did some haphazard repairs. Once I pick out buttons I’ll be able to do the button bands and finish it up.
8/18/15 Bound off using JSSBO.
8/17 part 2: Width is closer to 22” than 20”, and that’s before the button bands are added. Hope baby J grows quickly!! I’ll probably make it a little longer than called for so that it’s symmetric. I’m thinking I’ll do ribbing along the bottom instead of garter stitch. I think it’ll look a little more finished and it will probably help it fit a little better.
8/17/15 Yoke is closer to 4.5” than 3.75”
8/16/15 Cast on. I don’t love the yarn at all, but it’s going to non-knitter new parents who will need something washable and resilient. I plan to add buttons down the full length of the front to make it a little more boyish.
