Notes

I made this sometime in late 2006 while I was doing a three month travel assignment in central Maine. I needed a thin but warm hat to put under my regular hat. Even though that year was unseasonably warm, it was still cold! I used to walk a mile or so to work and needed something warmer than what I had brought with me.

I don’t remember what yarn I used, but I think it’s an acrylic/wool blend. I had these “pattern a day” knitting desk calendars. I used a pattern that called for bulky yarn but altered it. I remember casting on multiple times to get it right, and it might have been the first time I picked up stitches. I wish I remembered exactly what pattern it was because I really like the crown decreases. They’re very even.
