11/22 #2 All done! I can’t get good pics for the life of me. It’s not my favorite pattern ever but it needed to match a preexisting stocking as closely as possible, including being giant-sized. I am very happy with my work!
11/22/15 Name’s done, all seams sewed, all ends woven in/tied off (I went for durability over neatness on the wrong side). I just need to refresh my memory on how to make a pompom!
11/21/15 I sewed the foot seams and wove in/tied off all the ends so far. I did the year in duplicate stitch. I still need to do the name, but I’m going to rework the letters because it’s pretty long. I have to find a way to get them all to fit! Then the long seam and cord with pompoms. I should be done in a day or two!
11/20/15 Finished all of the knitting. Now I need to do the name and birth year in duplicate stitch, weave in a million ends and sew the seams. There’s one on each side of the foot and another from the top of the heel up to the cuff. Then, braid a cord and add some pompoms and it will be done!
11/19/15 I was initially making this in the round but failed to anticipate the color work sections! It’s been about a million years since I’ve done intarsia and I just didn’t think about it until I got to the Christmas tree. So, I ripped it out and started over flat. As much as I hate knitting flat, I’m really happy with how it’s turning out.
11/18/15 This project is half commission, half walk down memory lane.
