9/22/15 Blocked, photographed and DONE!
9/18 #2 Okay, now they’re REALLY done. Except for blocking, which they need. I haven’t tried the new one on yet but they appear to be the same size. Overall, I am very pleased with my first sock project!
9/18/15 Just have to kitchener up the second toe and weave in ends and the pair will be done! I haven’t updated the yardage used yet, but it’ll probably be around a skein and a third, or 265 yards. I made a couple of small changes on the second sock: I picked up one extra stitch at the point of each gusset and decreased it with the correctly leaning decrease (ssk or k2tog) on the first row. It looks better. Also, I did the whole second sock after the ribbing on magic loop. The first sock, I started it halfway through because my US4 dpns were driving me nuts.
9/15/15 I have one completed sock! It used 66 gm/132 yds. For more details, see my blog. I’m pretty happy with it. It fits well and feels comfy. Here’s hoping I don’t succumb to SSS!
9/14/15 I turned the heel and picked up the gusset sts. Not so bad :)
9/11/15 Not sure about this yet. I had to go down two needle sizes to get gauge (weird for me…I often have to go up) and it’s seeming really overly dense so far. It’s making the yarn seem coarser than it is. But, I really like the idea of worsted weight first socks and this pattern seems like a really great one to start with. So I will stick with it for a bit and see how it goes!
I used Tillybuddy’s very stretchy cast on.
