11/14/15 Blocked and photographed. Many thanks to my awesome SIL for modeling! Blocking opened the cables up a lot and now it fits great.

11/11/15 I finished the knitting on this last night. It is a little snug through the cables. I will weave in the ends and block it and see if that helps, but this may have to go to a young adult. I am considering ripping back to the top of the ribbing and redoing it up a needle size, especially since I have a little yarn leftover.

11/9/15 I love how this is turning out! The cables are working up nicely. It looks a little funky in the picture but that’s just because it’s still on the needles. It’s a little tricky, but only because I tend to be a tight knitter at baseline and with cables, doubly so. Thank god for Addi Turbos. Without them I don’t think this slightly sticky yarn and my tight cable knitting would work at all.

I was a little afraid that the Rowan Magpie Tweed wasn’t the best yarn choice, but I love it. I wasn’t sure that the tweed would have enough stitch definition for cables but it definitely does. I love how there are tufts of kelly green and orange spun in. It is a little rough but I’m hoping a wash and a soak in some conditioner will help with that.
