I followed the pattern for size women’s M but knit the leg 7” long instead of 8.5” long and knit the foot 9” long instead of 9.5” long.

I worked 22 heel flap rows instead of 30 rows. I picked up 14 sts along each side of the heel flap instead of 15 sts for a total of 76 gusset sts instead of 78 sts.

Heel Turn:
-Sl 1, k16, ssk, k1, turn
-Sl 1, p5, p2tog, p1, turn
-Continue until all sts have been worked - 18 sts

I knit 1 rnd even, knitting the picked up gusset sts through the back loop, before starting the gusset decreases.

For the toe I followed the pattern, decreasing every other rnd to 32 sts then every rnd to 8 sts.

I used this tutorial to work the contrast rib, heel, and toe.

I worked the heel flap on the second half of the sts instead of the first half so I could complete the yellow stripe.

For the contrast toe I changed to the white yarn one stitch before the first toe decrease instead of at the beginning of the round so the woven ends would be on the instep instead of the sole.

I knit the first sock using white Knit Picks Stroll for the cuff, heel, and toe but the sock stretched out so much around the ankle while wearing that I frogged it and used white Regia yarn instead.

The white yarn was a gift from my grandmother-in-law.
