Notes

I knit the leg 6” long instead of 7” long to accommodate the stripe pattern.

Instead of working a Dutch heel, I worked the heel flap over 30 sts and used the Heels by Number rounder heel turn.

I treated the first instep stitch as a gusset stitch so the instep rib would begin and end with a p1.

-18 sts after heel turn
-pick up 14 sts each side for gusset - 76 sts
-decrease gusset to 60 sts: 29 instep sts, 31 sole sts (16 sts first half of sole, 15 sts second half of sole)

I worked a standard pointy toe, decreasing every other round down to 16 sts.

Sock Measurements:

  • Circumference: 7.5” (60 sts)
  • Gusset Circumference: 9.5” (76 sts)
  • Leg Length: 6”
  • Heel Length: 2.25” (24 rows)
  • Foot Length: 10”
  • Heel to Toe: 8”
  • Toe Length: 2” (22 rnds)

Bruce’s Measurements:

  • Foot Circumference: 9” (-1.5”)
  • Ankle Circumference: 8” (-0.5”)
  • Gusset Circumference: 10” (-0.5”)
  • Foot Length: 10.5” (-0.5”)

The yarn was a gift/destash from my grandmother-in-law.
