When I gave my father the first pair of socks for Christmas 2016 he said, “I like them, but there’s one problem…I only have one pair.” So I decided to make him a second pair using the same pattern (since we know it fits) and the same yarn in a different colorway.

I used a long tail cast on. I used size 2 (2.75mm) needles for the cast on and to knit the first round so the cast on edge wouldn’t be too tight. Then I switched to size 1 (2.25mm) needles for the rest of the sock.

I knit the pattern as written for the Men’s L except for two changes:

1. I knit the leg until the final narrow stripe of the color repeat was complete and then worked the heel, as directed on the yarn ball band. So the leg is 7” long instead of 8”.
2. I knit the foot for 8” before decreasing for the toe instead of 8.5” (per the men’s L directions) because my father’s foot length is 10.5” and I wanted 0.25” of negative ease lengthwise.

Sock Measurements:

• Circumference: 8.5” (68 sts)
• Gusset Circumference: 10.25” (82 sts)
• Leg Length: 7”
• Heel Length: 2.5” (28 rows)
• Foot Length: 10.25”
• Heel to Toe: 8”
• Toe Length: 2.25” (25 rnds)
