My gauge was larger than the pattern’s so I cast on 72 sts instead of 88 sts for a finished circumference of 18”.

I knit the rib for 1.25” so the hat would be 8” long instead of 9.5” long.

I didn’t double the rib and instead used a long tail cast on.

For the crown shaping I worked two rounds in stockinette and started the crown chart on round 6 for a total of 12 decrease rounds instead of 15 rounds.

I used a 4” diameter faux fur pom-pom from Joann Fabrics.

The yarn was a gift/destash from my grandmother-in-law.
