Tessa is 3.5 years old in the first three photos (11/10/21 and 12/9/21) and 4.5 years old in the fourth photo (12/22/22).

Since my gauge was smaller than the pattern’s, I used the stitch counts for the 4 year size.

My gauge for the body was 13.5 sts = 4” and my gauge for the sleeves was 14 sts = 4”.

I added 0.5” to the body for a total length of 13.5” instead of 13”.

For the sleeves I cast on 20 sts and increased to 22 sts on the first stockinette round. I increased to 34 sts for the upper arm, following the increase instructions for the 2 year size.

On row 16 of the chart I knit 1A, 1B, 3A instead of 2B, 3A so the top of the diamond would be a single stitch and match the diamonds previously worked. Also, in the pattern photo that is how it appears to be knit.

I decreased to 40 sts for the neck rib instead of 36 sts. I used Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy BO.

This tutorial for grafting the underarm sts was very helpful.
