I made the hat first and my gauge was perfect. Then I made the diaper cover and my row gauge was off - about 3.5 rows to 2”. I worked on this diaper cover while running errands, so I couldn’t measure it until I got home and it was finished and it was about 16” long.

So I ripped it out, went down a hook size, and worked the diaper cover in HDC instead of DC.

My diaper cover measured 12.75” long before the SC edging. The finished length is 14.25” instead of 14.5”.

If I were to make this again, when switching from the waist to the butt, instead of slip stitching in the first 18 sts, next time I would just break the yarn and rejoin it.

I used a 1 1/8” wood button from Hobby Lobby that I had in my stash.

I used snaps I had in my stash. Larger snaps would probably be preferable, but I didn’t have any.
