Gauge:

• 24 sts x 30 rnds = 4” in stockinette
• 40 sts x 30 rnds = 4” in rib

I cast on 44 sts instead of 40 sts to fit a man’s hand. (44 sts = 7.25” in stockinette)

Mitts are modeled by my husband whose hand circumference is 8.25”.

I knit the cuff 2.25” long instead of 3” long. I wish I had knit the cuff shorter, like 1.5” long.

I worked even for 2.25” after putting the thumb stitches on hold.

I picked up two extra stitches for the thumb and decreased to 16 sts on the first round to avoid holes.

I knit the thumb 1.25” long instead of 1” long.

I used the decrease bind off from Semplice Fingerless Mitts.

Measurements:
