This lovely little doily from the 1920s is only nominally square. It reminds me of a Niebling the way it increases to create the leafy floral shapes while ignoring the two-per-corner rule that would make it strictly square.

I found two errors in the chart:

Row 37, a yarnover is missing after the second k2tog (add YO as 16th st. of row)

Row 43, yarnover in the wrong spot
(add YO as the 16th st. of row, before the third group of three stitches, and remove YO where there appears to be a double yarnover)

Very pretty blocked but I needed more pins!

ETA: I ended up running a nylon cord through the outer edge and blocking it a second time so the edge would be smoother.
