This will be for Eva’s 6th bday present. I’m going to modify this for an aran weight yarn.

-- worked 32 FDC in the first round
-- worked 29 rounds of esc before decreasing
-- decreased 4 sts in first decrease round
-- worked 4 more esc rounds
-- decreased 3 sts in second decrease round
-- worked 2 more esc rounds

These are pretty plain jane because I didn’t stripe them. I did the top of the leg warmers wrong and didn’t rib rounds 2-4. I didn’t notice until I started the second leg warmer. It really is unfortunate because I like the ribbing a lot. I couldn’t bear the thought of frogging a whole leg warmer. I’m wondering if I can find a pretty ribbon with a little elastic in it to help keep them up. Hmmm…

For this being only my second (finished) crochet project, I think they turned out quite well. The pattern instructions are quite clear and easy to follow (even for a noob like me). There are some terms that aren’t explained in the pattern, itself, but can easily looked up. Next time I’ll have to try my hand at striping these.

05/16/11 - I was afraid I was going to run out of yarn but barely made it! Done crocheting and the second one went much faster!

05/15/11 - One leg warmer done. 48 grams. This colorway didn’t work up like I would have like. I hope she still likes it.

The ball started at 96 grams.
