Notes

I’m using the zephyr doubled; I could have gone up a needle size or two to make it airier I think but I’m loving it this way, and I should have enough yarn to make it a good size. I’m at about 7 repeats of the body and have not reached the half point of my yardage yet. I think.

18/02: ripped 14 rows of edging when it became clear I could’ve squeezed more repeats out of the yarn.

21/02: Done: 15 repeats. There’s a tiny bit of yarn left but probably not enough to knit the last two rows charted, which, like Jared, I skipped. I’ll weigh the leftovers tomorrow. This is 51 inches across and 23 inches high unblocked. I wonder how big it will be when pinned out! It’s for Mom, and her birthday’s in a day and a half, so it’ll be just about fine. Pfew! Now to rest my achy hands.

14/03: I never came back to say! Mom loves her shawl and is wearing it a lot. She used to say it seemed a little small while I was knitting it, but pinned out it came in to 30 inches high and 78 inches wide, so that’s fine. It’s light enough that she can easily wear it scrunched up as a scarf with her coat, which she also does. Woohoo!
