Notes

Our younger cat, Coco, is a svelte little shorthair made for the warm California climate she was born in. So when we moved to Finland, it probably wasn’t surprising that she spent most of the fall and winter as a furry heat-seeking missile, constantly hogging just-vacated seats and radiators. I decided it was time to make her a proper winter wardrobe. Now, she’s been dressed in teddy bear clothes before, but she hates the sleeves and manages to roll out of the garment in a few minutes. The great thing about this sweater is that it stays on her no matter how she moves and she seems quite comfortable in it because it doesn’t inhibit her legs at all.

I pretty much went along with the pattern listed for the base, except for doing it all in one color and making it a tad smaller. Then I added some heart appliques that I’ve linked in a previous sock project. I’ll probably make a couple more of these, though I have some design changes in mind that would at least make it more suitable for Coco, whose body shape is a bit more elongated than most cats.
