As I mentioned in a past project, I left all my blankets behind when we moved to Finland. Which was sort of dumb, now that I think about it -- I mean, we were moving to a COLDER place, right? It was spring at the time, though. With most of this year’s exceptionally long winter over, I decided to remedy the siutation.

The finished project is 3x4 feet, which is quite a bit smaller than stated in the pattern but I also used a thicker yarn. It’s still a suitable size for decoration and one-person situations.

I went with this pattern because I loved the texture and simplicity of it. The yarn is a lovely soft acrylic and the finished blanket is fluffy and squishable in the hand. I folded it and used it as a cushion during a long drive yesterday! The pattern was mindless enough that I could watch TV while making this thing.
