Made with yarn left over from an earlier scarf. Great exercise for learning a new stitch! A much neater solution to my hook-storing needs than the plastic zip bag I had been using. This also keeps the hooks from banging against each other, which I’m told leaves little dents and eventually renders them unusable. I went with 6 rows of stars instead of the 8 in the original pattern so that the hooks would stick out and be easier to access without untying the entire mat. It’s tied securely enough that they can’t slip out on their own, but cushioned enough that a bit of wiggling can ease one out quickly. Perhaps when my collection grows a bit more I’ll expand this with a contrast colored edging that will cover everything.
