Reached the YO section in the upper midriff and after holding it up to my torso for length, decided to not include the pretty little holes that high up.

Doing M1L and M1R instead. Will start adding the holes a little lower down.

12-31-2019

Intending to make this longer in the torso. If I run low on yarn then it may be a 1/2 sleeve or even cap sleeve.

Also, I have decided that any mistakes made while knitting and watching Father Brown are divinely inspired so I’m leaving them as-is. ^^

At the bind off point and this is much too short to be comfortable (about 22” in the back pre-blocked) so I’m continuing until it seems I’ll have 27” of blocked length from the back of the neck to the hem.

5 rows seed stitch on bottom hem.

Picked up 2 extra stitches on either side of underarm area then decreased them the next round to close up any holes and loose spots.

Worked 12 arm rows before starting regular decrease rows.

5-row seed stitch on each arm. Did bind off in pattern (but it somehow still looks like a normal knitwise bind off).

ALWAYS CHECK GAUGE… blindly knitting along…thought a few times that it seemed a little short and small…added many, many rows…and finally measured to find I’m working at 24x32 and not 20x28. Wow. Ok well we’ll see what blocking does to this silky wool.

Finished. Silky wool grows with blocking. 3 more inches in length and 2 inches in width.

The neckline seemed fine but I could almost see it growing as I tried it on and wore it around a bit so will snug it up somehow.

Made a lot of small mistakes from watching TV while knitting but am mostly ignoring them. The design along the front right shoulder went off track for about 8 or 10 rows before I figured it out but I didn’t rip back to fix it. It creases there when I wear it so I don’t really care.

Also, never added yo on the body. Just didn’t need peekaboo holes even though they would look more balanced with the neckline. Maybe on my next version…

Realized that silky wool is a bit scritchy for close-fitting garments (my fault- from knitting on needles that were too small….). It would be better for loose-fit things that I can wear a tank top or camisole under. Beautiful, lightweight garment, though.
