I’m fascinated by this pattern, I just can’t help playing with it, so I’m trying it out with a cardigan for my granddaughter.

I found it much easier to knit this pattern in the cotton blend yarn as it’s a slightly slippery yarn which glides better on the needles and overcomes the tightness of the pattern.

For the body I cast on 181 stitches, after the fox paws pattern I divided it into 89 stitches for the back and 46 for each side. Then I decreased 2 stitches each side every 6 rows for a total of 12 stitches.

I cast on 41 stitches for the sleeves and did 10 rows rib on 3.25m needles. I changed to 3.5m for the fox paws pattern, after that I increased one stitch each side every 4 rows 12 times.

I shouldn’t have done shaping on the body, I had to move stitches around when joining the sleeves to get the chevrons to line up. It also would have been easier just to do plain stockinette sleeves. Ah well - done now!

Many thanks to florapie who gave great advice on the shaping for the yoke which I decreased after I placed the paws pattern.

Just need to give it a little blocking and it will be ready for when my granddaughter comes visiting next weekend.
