Finished, thanks to a knitting group evening last night at which I churned out all of the plain stockinette portion while chatting :)

I made an applied i-cord hem, because I’ve never done that before and I like to try new things. Very pleased with the neat finish but I’m worried it’s going to flip up a bit, we will see.

I omitted the eyelets for the tie as Willow will just fiddle with a ribbon and suck on it when she gets bored; otherwise I followed the pattern exactly. I needed much, much less yarn than specified - 137 yards versus a stated 270!

Cast on last night, first project for 2012! I’ll be making the ‘Petal One’ version, with just a couple of ruffles.

I had to go down a needle size to get gauge, so I’m using 3.75mm. I’m using up some cotton/acrylic yarn I picked up cheaply on Trade Me years ago - I’d never buy it now as I avoid acrylic and am wary of cotton, but it’s surprisingly pleasant to work with.
