My sister-in-law is coordinating an ongoing supply of snuggly cuddle-blankets to the ward of Christchurch Children’s Hospital where my late niece spent a lot of time, and this blanket will be sent there.

Garter-like-but-not-exactly, made by knitting a blue row, sliding the stitches to the other end of the circular, knitting a white row on the same side in the same direction, then turning and repeating those two rows. Plus some crochet to neaten up the side edges.
