First proper knitting project, wish me luck…

I’ve almost finished the first mitt (in amongst a few other projects) but my knitting has improved dramatically from start to finish so I think I may be counting this as a detailed swatch and making two more! The wobbly beginning may block out, but the mitt is also a little bit tight, so it all sounds like a good excuse to start over with next-size-up needles. I’m enjoying the process so I don’t mind at all - and it’s great to have a visual reminder that my skills are improving.

Done! I changed my mind about redoing the first mitt and just knit the wrist ribbing again using a larger needle, now the fit is great. Having a bind-off at both ends let me put matching stretchy picot edges on them too. The second mitt does look a little tighter when they are laid flat, but on my hands there’s no difference.
