Notes

Made for my cousin. Her baby isn’t due until July, but at least I won’t be late :)

For the hat, I did 2x2 ribbing and five rows of white before the colour work. I used 2mm needles and used about 10g of blue and 5g of white.

For the vest, I used the pattern linked as reference for some appropriate numbers, but didn’t follow it precisely - my button opening is in a different place, my edging is different, etc etc. I knit with the blue until it was nearly gone, then did the same colour work chart as on the hat (except upside down, as the vest is top-down) and finished with all the rest of my white yarn. I used 2.75mm needles and used about 40g of blue and 20g of white.

The vest turned out quite a bit bigger than the hat, it’s probably 3-6 month size whereas the hat is very much for a newborn. But it’s fine, this is a winter baby so she’ll need hats right away and light vests a bit later :)
