Christmas gift knit for my SIL Anna :)

Finished! This turned into an enjoyable zone-out TV knit after the first few repeats, and I’m pleased with the result. Such beautiful yarn. I don’t think I’d use it for anything other than accessories, but I see how people get hooked.

My only reservation is about the pattern: the cast on and bind off edges look very different! The cast on has rounded corners, lovely gentle scallops, and the beads sit close to the edge, but the bind off is straight, with square corners, and the beads sit a good 1/4” or more back from the edge.

I took a needle and embroidered the yarn tail through the bind off edge, pulling the beads in closer and creating slight scallops by gathering a few stitches, but it’s still not exactly the same. I also embroidered the starting yarn tail through the cast on edge without changing the shape to match the extra weight.

If you make this scarf I highly recommend knitting it in two halves, with two cast on edges, and grafting in the middle.

I’ll add final measurements after blocking. I had about a foot of yarn left at the end, very efficient :)

I’ve knitted similar lace patterns to this before, but never in lace weight yarn, or with mohair, and the first few rows were very awkward. But I stuck with it - and changed from the metal needles I usually prefer to a grippier plastic set - and after about 4” the knitting became enjoyable. Now I’m moving along smoothly and loving the soft, weightless result.
