This pattern has five rounds; I made a variety of hexagons with 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 coloured rounds with the rest being the background grey. Then arrangement was based on a rough swirly diagonal, which doesn’t really show in detail in the finished blanket, oh well :)

After joining I added in some extra bits in the large gaps on the long sides, then did three rounds of border in a mix of sc/hdc/dc (to further smooth out the edges a bit), and a final chain stitch round on the surface for texture and decoration.

The final two skeins of overdyed grey background colour were dyed separately when I realised I would run short, and didn’t turn our quiiiiite the same, but it only shows up when you look closely and since they’re all in the border I think it’s okay - all the inside matches, and the new shade is placed evenly around the outside.
