Notes

Turning sweater leftovers into a matching hat. Wouldn’t do it for myself, but kids can get away with that sort of thing ;)

The first hat I made (exactly per pattern directions - except for using a provisional cast-on and grafting at the end for a seamless finish) was far too big for Willow. I thought it would be about right since my gauge was much smaller than the pattern, but live and learn! This one used 60g/110m of yarn.

It was a pleasant knit and I had enough yarn for a second hat, so instead of frogging I put the first one in the gift pile and made a second. This time I cast on 39 stitches, 6 less than in the pattern, and made each wedge with only five turns instead of six (but the same number of wedges as before, as each is smaller). This one used 50g/93m of yarn.
