Notes

I attended a Crochet Guild tapestry bead class in summer ‘09 in Buffalo, NY taught by Carol Ventura and was impressed by the technique. So here is my first tapestry crochet attempt. I used the Spring Market Bag pattern and incorporated my own design. I saw a Mud Cloth design on the web and patterned the bag after it.

I uploading the picture on a graph generator Knit Pro

The black and white star was from another picture I saw on the web .

The gold and white rim and handle is patterned similiar to another mud cloth design that I saw on Google images.

The rim and handle was the most challenging part of the pattern. I cut the yarn once while crocheting the handle in order to pull the yarn through the holes that houses the strap. I have already started another bag but will make it smaller by eliminating some of the increases.

The nylon is a little rough on the fingers and wrist. Nevertheless, I am happy at the way it has developed and it was well worth a little discomfort.

I exhibited this bag at a CCNY Women’s art show and a CCNY reporter interviewed me and included a picture of the bag.
