Inspired by the photos Ella Gordon posted on her blog of the Spencer dress she purchased second hand.
I looked at Ella’s photos very closely. I counted holes and rows and did some calculations. I used an edge pattern and the feather and fan pattern from the book ‘Shetland Hap Shawls, Then & Now’ from Sharon Miller. I ordered a cone in shade 122 from J & S and started knitting. And here it is: my own Spencer Dress. It’s very comfy and warm.
