UPDATE

I’ve had many requests for the PDF chart that I made based on the original pattern. Basically I just joined the charts together to make it easier to read.

The PDF is two pages: one page is a large chart for easy viewing, the other page is the chart with the key so that you can understand the symbols.**

Click here to download my PDF chart.

I got a new little 8.9” laptop for Christmas/Birthday and decided to knit a cool case for it since I will probably tuck it into my purse and carry it around. The pattern is for normal size computers so I decided to change it up a little.

First, I’m knitting length wise, not width wise. I also went down a size 3mm needle and I’m using sock yarn. I’m really glad I kept this yarn for something like this rather than socks! So pretty!

I also re-charted the entire thing so that it would be on one page and make sense to me. If you want a copy of my chart, just message me!

I cast on for the smallest size (64 sts). Gauge is 8 sts over 1”.

Measurements without laptop or sleeve: 8.5” across and 11.25” long (measured flap closed as in the 4th photo here)

Measurements with laptop sleeve and computer 8” across and 10.5” long. There is 1” thick on the sides and bottom.

I seamed the edges with a 3 st attached i-cord and went around the flap as well.

I used a small i-cord to make loops and sewed the celtic knot buttons to the bag. Just slip the loop over the button and it’s nice and secure.

darthknitter helped me sew another pouch for the inside. (Well, she pretty much did the whole thing!) The pouch is two layers of fabric with foam (thin craft foam) sewn inside. We didn’t get the sides exactly right, so I may make another one. I didn’t sew it in because the pouch stays put pretty well and allows me to change it out if I get bored with it.

More pictures later! All of these were taken with my camera phone. Bleh.
