Notes

This is sooo not the best colourway for this pattern! It totally disguises the beautiful ‘bows’ on the leg and instep.

I suggest knitting this is in a one color yarn.

16/5: finished one sock and getting more and more satisfied with it. The pattern is fun to knit , easy to read for a beginner like me and I’m getting used to the stripes :)

Alternations:

set-up for heelflap:
ndl 1: k16, put 4 st on ndl 2
take new needle= ndl 2:
k4, k16 (you’re in the middle now)
k another 16 st (take 4 st from ndl 3)
--> now you have 32 st on ndl 2 (put these on stichholder)
ndl 3: k16

Knit heelturn as written in the pattern.

Gusset: put st on stichholder onto 1 dpn

Round 1 of Gusset:

ndl 1: (take new needle): k9, pick up 18 st + k2 extra (preventing gap afterwards)
ndl 2: K4, k crocus motif round 1, k4
ndl 3: k2 extra st (preventing gap), pick up 18, k9

--> we now have 29st each on ndl 1&3 (making 92st in stead of 86) because we knitted 4 extra sts for preventing those gaps.

Solution: Only the first time of our 12 round pattern, we knit in round 2 & round 4 as follows:
ndl 1: k2tog, k remaining stitches
ndl 3: k until last 2 st, k2tog

Follow pattern as written (every even round we knit, every odd round we decrease and knit the motif needle)

After decreases, knit motif 4 times, knit 5th time and knit round 7 as indicated.

Knit all for 1 round and start decreasing in the next odd rounds.
