Notes

I used a variety of wool and acrylic worsted weight yarn to get the rainbow colors plus Pacific charcoal for the background.

The pattern as written made a hat that was far too big. I modified it by skipping the K20 and following K22 rows. That resulted in a hat with 22” circumference and 10” height. I added a 6 row garter stitch brim because all the color changes led to a not neat edge. The hat is too tall for my liking.

For the second and third hats, I casted on 30 stitches and did short rows down to 14 stitches. Like the first hat, I picked up (1 st per garter ridge) and knit stitches for a brim: 6 rounds of garter stitch, then cast off. These hats are ~21” in circumference and 8.5” tall.
