This was not a quick project, but I think it was a good one. I was going to do the ruffles in a fuzzy yarn, but I think using the Bamboo Ewe was a good idea. If I did another one, I’d add beads so it could be more like the one in the book. I was surprised to find that the yarn was not colorfast and when I blocked it I had to rinse like five times.

I started this in Alpaca Love (Peacock Feather), with a size J hook, got 1/2 way through the main body and ran out. I tried to continue with Red Heart Soft Touch in Dark Green. The colors looked great but the texture of the AL next to the ST made me realize that the AL was too stiff. The Bamboo Ewe has nice drape and will work well with this pattern. I’m going to use a coordinating acrylic yarn from Mexico for the ruffles. I think it’s going to be cute. Will post pix when I can.
