Adapting this to knit toe up. CO 20, 6 rounds increasing every round, 6 increases paced every other round with last increase round only doing two increases on the sole and beginning the foot chart on the instep.

Going to use an afterthought heel with a built in gusset that I really liked in my last pair of socks. Also using k2tog-L as the left leaning decrease as it manages to be the neatest one for me.

I’ve worked the first sock up past the heel insertion point. I did the foot chart in its entirety once, then the first six rounds again, inserted the heel on the back of the 6th round, then worked rounds 7-18 on the front of the sock only. Round 19 I started at the back of the sock and did the chart all the way around. That put me starting the leg chart on round 1, stitch 7. Then I started the second sock, which I have a bit over half way through the chart.

I love this yarn and this pattern; separately they are fabulous and I am delighted with how they work together.

I feel that these are taking shamefully long but it isn’t the pattern’s fault. It’s a combination of me doing a lot of yard improvements during knitting time and also redoing a four inch section of one sock four freaking times. I initially redid it for awkward pooling, but then I kept getting distracted and making the spiral go in the wrong direction. Finally (finally!) I got it all straight. On the plus side, this yarn stands up marvelously to frogging!

It also took me a stupidly long time to memorize the pattern even though it isn’t that complex. Trouble focusing, for whatever reason. But I quite love knitting this pattern. I love anything that spirals!

One heel down, one to go. I do like how the guesses feels but if I decrease down as much as the pattern says, the heel is a bit long. Went to 31 this time and grafted after the decrease round.

Happy birthday to me! Socks are all done and I love everything about them!
