This is cold-recovery knitting since I can’t do anything complex yet but I am itching to knit something. Plus, the husband’s birthday is week after next, so…

Took about three and half hours to knit the first one. Probably kind of slow, but hey, illness-recovery knitting so it works for me.

Deal lord, I hope these felt well.

The second slipper went much faster as my cold is improving leaps and bounds; it took just a hair over two hours.

Both slippers are in the wash for the first felting. Fingers crossed!

I do want to put some sort of reinforced bottom on these, just have to let Dan pick what type he wants. And then, you know, do it.

It took the whole day but the slippers have finally felted to (almost) the right size! If I did these again, I’d probably go down one size from what the pattern indicates is the proper size and I’d do a provisional cast on then graft the heel together instead of hemming so the heel would be neater and seaming easier (less chance of the yarn tearing).

The husband gives them a big thumbs up though and that’s the most important thing!

Update: I had to cut the back of the slippers and hem them so they would be shorter. Now they are the perfect fit. Yay!

This yarn also got massively peel-y; they looked kind of muppet-like. But I shaved them with a disposable razor and now they look fabulous again!
