Notes

The only wheat that is now allowed in my life - Golden Wheat colored yarn and a wheat stitch pattern!

This stitch pattern tickles me so. It is super-easy to memorize - I referenced the pattern three times in the first repeat and haven’t looked at it since.

My skein was 104g and I have 12g left so I used 92g instead of the 88g listed above. Doing it that way keeps my leftover total accurate.

Pattern Adaptations:

  • Worked sock toe-up
  • CO 10 per needle with US1
  • 70 sts total
  • Switched C2F and C2B (to keep the heads of wheat right side up)
  • Used ktbl for “stalks” (so K5 became K2, Ktbl, K2 and single K1 became Ktbl)
  • Worked pattern on top of foot instead of just the ribbing
  • On the second row of the fifth pattern repeat on the leg, I switched up to US1.5. (For the best fit, I probably should have done it after the fourth repeat but this way seems to work, too)
  • Finished off with k5tbl, p2, ktbl, p2 around.
