So, my first real attempt at a knit project seems to be going well. I’m finally pretty comfortable with the stitches and I think I finally straightened out my tension issues about round 30. My tension was much too tight since the stitches weren’t really sliding on the needles but rather had to be shoved on and off… not surprising since I tend to crochet tight, too. Also, my knit stitches were a lot tighter than my purls. But now they are fairly equal.

Hopefully that tension wackiness won’t make my finished project whacky, though I know my earlier rounds are smaller/tighter than my later rounds. Oh well!

I’m really liking the feel of the finished material the pattern is creating. Soft and cushy and cuddly. I’m already plotting out searching out a pattern for a hat out of the same materials. Or maybe mittens…

Squee! I’m unofficially done! It’s all bound off and the ends are weaved in. There is a little issue due to my evolving tension but it’s hard to tell unless you know what to look for so I’m totally thrilled with it. I still need to block it but after that, done!

Playing around with it, I think the same pattern will look cute made into a hat so I’m contemplating doing that (and mittens) with my remaining 2+ skeins of this yard.

Giving it a light blocking to see if that helps with the slight tension wonkiness and flatten out the purl sections a bit to show off the knit sections more.

Forgot I had this in the back room blocking but I remember now and it’s all dry. It’s so pretty! I really like this!
