I need a break from large needles and thick yarn. So socks!

So far (which, admittedly, isn’t very far) it seems like the yarn is super splity. Using the toe from Cat Bordhi’s socks just to try a new-to-me toe.

First toe done. Increased to 64 sts with last round being an increase round. Knit a plain round on to circ. Mark first st of next rnd.

Okay, my original intention was to make these Scatterby Socks but I’m about an inch or so into the pattern unfortunately the pattern hides too much of the lovely colors of this yarn and just makes it look like a jumbled mess. I think this pattern would do better with a yarn that has slightly less contrast to it. So I’m going to rip back and make some vanilla socks.

First sock is ready for the heel, second sock is a few inches past the toe. The second sock is turning out to have significantly, noticeably less orange than the first, which is pretty disappointing. It seems like there wasn’t enough orange dye to soak all the way through the hank but rather it just hung out on the top few layers.
