2 sc into first sc, sc into each sc across until 1 sc remains, 2 sc into last sc, ch1, turn.

I decided to make this one because 1) my dutch ovens have two handles and 2) the knit version is murder to do. But I am not even half way done and am already worrying that this version will result in hot fingers. Crochet has holes. My previous crochet potholders have been double thick. This is just with really thick yarn. So yeah, nervous for my fingers. We shall see how it goes!

I added 4 to my beginning chain so the size would match the knitted one (on which, apparently, my gauge was off, but whatever).

Overall, the crochet version was much easier and quicker to make than the knit version. (This one took a bit over an hour to make; the knit one took closer to three hours.) But I fear that the knit one will protect fingers a bit better. This, however, is merely supposition, but it makes me reluctantly vote for the knit version as better.
