Caked the yarn for these socks. I have found I can’t watch anything more plot-driven than a documentary when working on my lace, so I’m going to cast on for these socks so I can watch Stargate in between documentaries.

Doing an anatomical toe charted to match my foot. Afterthought heel.

Cast on today. My brain is not working well, as today’s attempt at lace demonstrated. Even anatomical ties are almost beyond me. Thankfully, I am now past the toes and on to the plain knit section.

Doing my first afterthought heel. I shall put in the waste yarn where I normally would begin the gusset on my cardboard template.

The sock is surprisingly comfortable even without the heel put in. I am a bit nervous to do the heel. I hope it works well!

One heel down, one to go. I like how nicely the heel fits but I did end up with holes at the side and I don’t love the grafting on the end of the heel. Some of this can be improved with my technique but I’m not sure if I’ll be doing this heel tons in the future.

All done! I am so excited!
