I’ve got two other projects going, both which require a bit more attention than I can give during a Project Runway marathon. Thus, plain socks.

Inc every rnd to 40 sts
Inc every other rnd to 64 sts
Begin pattern on non-inc rnd of 64 sts. Mark rnd.
29 purl ridges, start heel on next (all knit) round (7”) using 4 extra on each side (40sts)

Managed to get my gauge a little off between the two so the colors got about 4 rows out of sync. Darn it. But oh well.

The deeper heel seems to fit across my instep well but it’s possible it might feel a bit loose. I’ll see after blocking.

Also, even though I knit the leg my normal length, it fits a little shorter. I wonder if the deeper heel makes things measure the same length but fit a bit shorter because more of what I’m measuring is heel?

I like the yarn for the most part. It is super sticky which caused a few moments of frustration but feels like it will wear well and is softer than similar sock yarns (Regia, Opal, etc).

After blocking, there seems to be a bit of looseness right at the top of the heel. So looks like 3 extra stitches on either side of a normal 64st sock is the heel for me, not 4.
