Apparently I have a large head but I wanted to use a bulky yarn so I sized up the needles (6 on the brim, 8 on the rest of the hat) and followed the pattern for the small. About half way through the brim, I checked to see if the size was good and it’s perfect! Snug enough to stay where I put it, loose enough to not give me hat head.

Just finished the double brim and I’m so excited about this hat! It looks so neat and feels so cushy!

I would have finished this hat way before now but I’ve been sick and icky and horrid. Bleck. But now the hat is done and blocking!

I didn’t want as slouchy of a hat as the pattern gives because I wanted it to stretch a little to show the knit bits (to better match my scarf) instead of compacting to only how the pearl sections. I only did 35 rounds of the pattern repeat then did the knit decreases. I absolutely adore the double brim - it’s even made my husband request a double thick hat. Lovely hat - I love the scrunched up top - it adds cute interest, I think.
